The Calestaia Morellino di Scansano Riserva DOC reviewed here presents itself to our eyes of a beautiful garnet red, where we can still see the reflections of ruby red, indicators of a wine that still conveys youth.
The nose is recognize aromas reminiscent of ripe fruit and jam already . In particular, the aroma reminds blueberry jam , blueberries in alcohol, plums, prunes, the plum jam and spices such as cinnamon , black pepper, cloves.
Leaving oxygenate the wine in the glass for a few minutes , they emerge citrus aromas , orange peel , and hints of chocolate .
In the mouth affects a great aristocracy and nobility. The tannins typical of Sangiovese of Morellino di Scansano is already a little ‘ softer wood from aging and also the acid component is very delicate and soft , and does not cover the great softness and roundness that visual analysis anticipated .
She has a great body and is the net balance between the components of alcohol and sugar content between the components of minerals and acidity.
It ‘a wine very persistent , very long, with a final with a very complex flavor that reminds us of smell and olfactory sensations experienced in the analysis . We find black pepper , cloves , emerging in a retro taste very long and very pleasant. An extraordinary wine to accompany red meats , grilled meat , game and cheese.
