Geographic location of the vineyard: Municipality of Bolognano, Pozzo district – south-facing
Type of land: clay, limestone
Harvest: manual, following ripening curves Fermentation: gentle grape pressing, maceration in oak vats with hand punching-down and controlled temperature fermentation
Ageing and evolution: in January the wine is decanted into oak barriques where its ages for about 18 months; again 12 months in stainless steel tanks and finished with 6 moths refining in the bottle. Sensorial features: deep ruby red colour, limpid and intense; strong liquorice and forest fruits scents; full-bodied and robust, with a tannin component embraced by the grape’s aromatic weave
Bottle lifespan: on sale 3 years after the harvest; bottle-ageing even for a further 10 years
Serving temperature: 18°C
