Concours Mondial du Sauvignon 2013, the Italian Sauvignon fended for themselves very well in the great world competition.

Concours Mondial du Sauvignon 2013, now in its fourth edition, took place at Château de Blois, in the Loire Valley, France.
Even 807 participating wines from 22 producing countries, including New Zealand, Chile, France, Spain, Italy, Greece, Switzerland, Czech Republic, Romania and Slovakia. This year’s champions in the conpetition increased by over 20%. A total of 231 wines were awarded with medals, 79 of which gold and 152 silver.

In total there were about 60 judges including sommeliers, distributors, producers, oenologists, journalists, representing about 20 countries (Germany, Spain, Italy, Chile, New Zealand, France, Belgium, England, Switzerland, etc..).

The Concours Mondial de Bruxelles has had once again the task of managing the technical organization of the tastings and of ensuring the global exposure for the Concours Mondial du Sauvignon, bringing at the event its experience and its professional support. The next competition will take place in spring 2014 in Bordeaux, the city that four years ago saw the birth of the competition.

For Italy a gold medal and 6 silver medals, out of a total of 231 medals awarded.
