Sauvignon Blanc Rutherford 2013 – Honig

WINEMAKING NOTES FRUIT 88% Honig Estate Sauvignon Blanc,2.0% Honig Estate Muscat and 10% Honig Estate Semillon. VINEYARD The fruit is from select blocks of our sustainably farmed vineyard in Rutherford, Napa Valley. WINEMAKING A portion of the blend was selected from lots that were fermented at cool temperatures in stainless steel tanks and subsequently aged on the lees in neutral oak casks for 6 months. The remainder of the juice was fermented in new, specially selected, French oak barrels. The barrel fermented portion of the blend underwent malo-lactic fermentation and was aged on the lees for 6 months. Individual lots were selected for the blend in November 2013 and the final blend was assembled just prior to bottling in June 2014. AGING 60% aged for 6 months in neutral oak tanks 40% aged for 6 months in new French oak barrels TASTING NOTES Summer fruit aromas and flavors (white peach, melon and lychee) are highlighted by lemon bar, vanilla and toasty oak. This rich, complex and refreshing Sauvignon Blanc will prove delightful with a wide variety of menus, ranging from simple pastas to the complex curries of south Asia
